This paper extends the ordinary distributed detection model，assuming that the local sensors are allowed to send multi-bits information to the fusion centre，rather than only 1-bit local hard decision. The paper proposes the way to determine the optimal multi-bits information which can sufficiently improve the performance of the detection network. Numerical results show the multi-bits approach is practical.
