This paper first abstracts several important parameters according to the memory reference behaviors of applications and then presents a model of processor efficiency for DSM systems. Based on the performance model this paper analyzes how the applications reference behaviors affect the processor efficiency. Several ways to improve processor efficiency are given at the end of this paper.
