A model of the automotive braking aid presented in this paper is based on Gauss-Seidel algorithm. Based on the model, a hyper-stable model reference adaptive controller for braking aid is designed for automotive collision warning system. All of the study has been carried out on a “Software & Hardware Hybrid d Platform for Simulation of Engineering Systems Using Matlab Toolbox/Simulink". The results of software and hardware simulation are quite consistent, which demonstrates the functionality and effectiveness of this system and experimental methodology for controlling the motor-speed and keeping the distance between automobiles under complicated circumstances.
