    Abstract:

By using the technique of Racah algebra and antisymmetrizer, the atomic electrostatic energy matrix elements for electronic configuration l1n1 l2n2…lfnf in the LS coupling scheme are obtained. There are only 6-j, 9-j symbols and one-partical substantive coefficients of fractional parentage in the expressions of these elements. Therefore, the atomic electrostatic energy can be evaluated more easily. This method can be used to calculate the energy levels of atoms and ions with higher atomic number, which are compositions of ablation vapor sometimes.
