We make an introductory review on the optical imaging techniques based on intrinsic signals including the last achievement in this field. First, we give the general concepts and fundamental principles of optical imaging techniques based on intrinsic signals such as the definition, characteristics, classification. Then, the differences between this techniques and other optical imaging techniques of functional brain are compared. Finally, we point out possible directions for further research.
