IOs of the external memory are still the key factor to the performance of IO-intensive applications. Based on the systematical analysis of I/O-optimized scheduling policies and their requirement to characteristics parameters of disk, this paper introduces a set of I/O-scheduler-oriented disk characteristics extracting methods. These methods have been proved efficient and introduced into the implementing of Traxtents-Cello scheduler.
