Abstract:Time-delay control system is very important to magnetic flux compression generator’s operation. Based on circuit delay scheme, an appropriate model was built to analyze the initiation time sequence, and its errors dispersion was analyzed. A switch driven by detonation was proposed, its voltage endurance capability and plate deformation were analyzed by simulation. On this basis, six switches were tested at high voltage. The data shows that, there is no voltage breakdown at 5kV, responsetime distributes in 66±5μs with standard deviation of 2.7μs, conducting time is equal or greater than 900μs, discharge efficient is approximately equal to 90%. A minitype magnetic flux compression generator was used to test the time-delay control system and the results show that, the time difference between magnetic flux compression generator’s operation and current peak is only 1.8μs with the error being 7.8%.
