Abstract:This paper describes the reduction of the cylindricity error in a diamond turning process using an in-situ metrology system,an error separating technique,a piezo-electric micro-positioning system, and a P-integrator repetitive controller. The scheme was realized with a diamond turning lathe and proven to be effective in reducing the cylindricity error by an order of magnitude.

Abstract:The accurate and fast measurement of complex free-form surfaces is of great value. But this problem has not been perfectly solved yet. When implementing this measurement, the major difficulty of stereo vision technology lies in the locating and matching of image features rapidly and accurately. This paper presents a stereo vision method for measurement of free-form surfaces with the features of laser scan targets, an optimum matching algorithm and triangular element interpolation for surface representation, which makes the measurement fast, accurate and flexible.

Abstract:Condition monitoring and fault diagnosis is currently a very important problem in large-scale complicate power devices. Both scheme and realistic technology for monitoring system hardware and software have been present to solve the problem in this paper. The fault diagnostic model based on artificial neural network and state identification method based on fuzzy analysis are studied.

Abstract:Based on statistical testing method of residuals or innovations such as Wald's SPRT criteria and the characteristics of neural networks, this paper proposes a new algorithm of fault detection for dynamic system, which is called intelligent decision algorithm. Because of relaxing the requirement on statistical properties of the systems, the algorithm has better robustness. The algorithm is applied to the fault detection for the liquid rocket engine with turbopump system, and simulation result shows that it is very effective.

Abstract:Based on the basic assumptions of pure bending damage of beams,a simple bending damage theory is proposed, in which the definition of bending damage variable is defined by reduction of moment of inertia similar to that of tensile damage variable by reduction of loading area by L. M. Kachanov (1958). For simplicity of application in engineering, the evolution law of bending damage variable can be adapted as a simple form. As an example, an exact bending damage analysis of a beam for creep pure bending is made. The calculating results are compared with the results obtained by Kachanov's tensile damage theory (1986). Moreover, in addition to determination by experiments (similar to the measurements of tensile damage, J. Lemaitre, 1987),the material's constants of the simple bending damage model can be determined in first approximation to Kachanov's tensile damage model.

Abstract:The application of fuzzy set theories in the radar signal processing field is studied in this paper. Several new methods for radar signal detection, parameter estimation and radar target identification are proposed. The computer simulation results show that under the assumption of low signal-to-clutter ratio, the performance of these new methods is better than that of the conventional methods.

Abstract:The author described a new algorithm for (G2-continuous) shape preserving parametric cubic interpolation spline curve. The construction of the algorithm is simple, the computation involved is easy and efficient. The algorithm is appropriate both for open and closed curves. Finally,an example is given.

Abstract:An object-oriented Prolog interpreter GKD-OOPS based on a modular Prolog system is dseigned and implemented. It supports the concepts such as modularity, information encapsulation, data abstraction and message passing which are usually used in large knowledge processing systems. This paper describes the conceptual structure, the language specification, the logic semantics, system organization and architecture and related object primitives of GKD-OOPS.

Abstract:Computer-aided software engineering (CASE) emerged at 1980s when SE could not meet the demands of software development. This paper discusses what CASE has achieved in the past and how many problems (old and new) of CASE exist at present. It also discusses the possible ways to solve these problems.

Abstract:By means of a c1ass of recursive functions ? on I+,this paper defines a c1ass of context-sensitive languages & over the alphabet ∑={a},and then presents a context-sensitive grammar schema generating the language of & by a structured analysis method. Furthermore,an unified method and theory for grammar design of & is formed. The methods and techniques discussed here can be generalized to grammar design of all other context-sensitive languages.

Abstract:There are drawbacks and difficulties while using the single adaptive method or DLS (damped least squares) method to do optical automatic design, respectively. The article advances suggestion to make the two optimization ideas complex in a terse and short program of microcomputer, and presents a simple implementation scheme of the complex. The program after the complex takes the adaptive method assisted by the DLS method as its optimization idea,it keeps the virtues of both single adaptive method and single DLS method, and overcomes their defects, thus it is superior to both of them.

Abstract:The creep-damage modeling correlated to temperature has been described for a kind of composite solid propellant (CSP) in this paper. The material parameters of the modeling were determined by creep experiments of uniaxial and biaxial loading. The modeling is useful for analysis of solid rocket motor and for prediction of service life of the CSP.

Abstract:The detection of transient signal using wavelet transform (WT) has been studied recently. A new method for detection of transient signals with unknown waveforms and arrival times is proposed. The Mexican hat function is chosen as basic wavelet, and combining with the prior information of transient signal, the values of dilation and translation parameters are selected appropriately. As a result transients whose waveforms partially overlap in time at a very low signal-to-noise ratio can be recognized in the WT domain. Using Monte-Carlo simulation, the structure of the proposed detector is discussed and its performance is evaluated.

Abstract:This paper discusses the problem of determining the deflection of vertical using the inertial surveying system. A post-mission method is presented which uses the zero velocity. It requires the value of the traverse initial and terminal deflection of vertical. The deflection of vertical and gyro drift along the traverse can be estimated.
