    Abstract:

This paper describes the reduction of the cylindricity error in a diamond turning process using an in-situ metrology system,an error separating technique,a piezo-electric micro-positioning system, and a P-integrator repetitive controller. The scheme was realized with a diamond turning lathe and proven to be effective in reducing the cylindricity error by an order of magnitude.
