Abstract:
The indirect boundary element method (BEM) is presented. The wave propagation in cracked media is solved by means of 2-D dynamic boundary integral equation. A 2-D BEM program is developed to model the elastic waves excited by a point explosive source propagating in the fractured rocks. Numerical results show that the BEM is an effective method for seismic wave modeling.
